The Skill Moves and Tricks in FIFA 22
This is new in FIFA 22: A great innovation in FIFA 22 will be that skill moves can now be performed with the first ball touch. In FIFA 21 it was still the fact that the ball had to be accepted first before a skill-Move could trigger.
A practical innovation, which should make the new gameplay of FIFA 22 especially more fluid. However, there are a few limitations:
- These skill moves can not be performed with the first touch: "Overstood", "Angling", "Bridge" and the "Directional Nutmeg".
- First-time skill moves are harder to control, as normal skill moves that you run out of dribbling out. Especially when the ball arrives at high speed.
- First-time skill moves do not work for passports in the run.
This is how the innovation looks in practice:
This changes with the skill moves: A whole range of popular skill moves is adapted for FIFA 22 and changed:
- "La Croqueta", "Elastico", "Reverse Elastico" and "Scoop Turn" can no longer be canceled.
- The "Brigde" and the "Directional Nutmeg" reduces the speed of the animation.
- "Drag Back Spin", "Four Touch Turn" and "Overstood" can now be canceled (R2 / RT + L2 / LT).
- The "Drag to Drag Skill-Move" is now executed by holding the right stick backwards.
- The "Heel To Heel" should become heavier.
- There are new animations for the "Directional Nutmeg".
These are the new skill moves in FIFA 22: For the new FIFA offshoot, EA Sports has announced a total of 4 new skill moves. However, how strong these are, is not yet known.
The new skill moves:
- Four Touch Turn: Hold L2 / LT and reflects the right stick twice
- Skilled Bridge: Holds L2 / LT and presses R1 / RB twice
- First Time Spin: Holds L1 / LB + R1 / RB when the ball comes to the player
- Scoop Turn Fake: Hold the left stick into the opposite direction after you run a "Forward Scoop Turn"
Unfortunately, there is no video material to the new skill moves. Only the new "Scoop Turn Fake" could be discovered in the new trailer. Here is a clip:
