Splitgate was created at a perfect time and produced the perfect storm in a teacup, while the games world waits longing for the arrival of Halo Infinite. Splitgate combines games like Halo and Portal and adds a new turn to the proven Arena Shooter. In the first 30 days of beta phase of the game it was downloaded from over 10 million players on all platforms including PC, PlayStation and Xbox. But has Splitgate CrossSplay or are you bound to your own platform?
Has Splitgate CrossSplay?
Many competitive games such as Warzone and Fortnites enable CrossSplay, making players together on all platforms. This means that you can play together and have fun when your friend is on Xbox and you on PlayStation. SPLITGATE currently has no option to disable the crossSplay, which means that you have to play with players on other platforms. Whether this changes or not, we do not know, but in other games this leads to extremely long queues, so it is probably best to have it enabled by default.
It should be noted that splitgate has no cross-progression. So if you own multiple platforms, you can not switch between consoles and PC and continue where they have stopped, your account and progress are bound to each platform. This could change in the future, but is currently not in the game.
SPLITGATE is now available for free download on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game is also available on the backward compatibility for PS5 and Xbox Series X | S, with a NEXT gene version in development. 1047 Games has also confirmed that a Nintendo Switch and a mobile version are in development, but since the game has been so popular, they had to relocate their focus somewhere else, so it could take a while until the game appears on handheld devices .
