The Youtube "PSVR WITHOUT" channel affirms in a freshly published video that Sony Interactive Entertainment has kept in camera a 90-minute conference for potential game developers for PlayStation VR 2. In this same video, videographer lists the information that has according to its sources been communicated to these developers during the event.
In parallel with the information already known and other serious corridor noises that have already circulated, this conference would also have revealed its set of unpublished details. These details, we suggest you discover below:
- Sony appoints for the moment its new headphones the "next-gen virtual reality." No "PlayStation VR 2" for now.
- Screens in the headset will be OLED 4K compatible HDR slabs. Their angle of view will be 110 degrees (10 degrees more than the current PlayStation VR). Their resolution will be 2000 x 2040 per eye.
- The helmet will propose the detection of the movement of the eyes associated with Foveal rendering (in order to optimize the display of graphics). Sony speaks here of "Flexible Scaling Resolution." In addition to the haptic sensors in the controllers, haptic sensors will also be present in the helmet itself. According to Sony, these sensors would help reduce sea pain.
- The controllers will be delivered with the headphones (unlike PlayStation Move that were not included with the PLAYSTATION VR).
- As on PS5, Sony will focus on the AAA games on PlayStation VR 2. The Japanese manufacturer wants to offer AAA hybrid games that will be playable on a normal screen or in virtual reality via the helmet. The player will have the opportunity to download the version of the game that suits him.
- Sony has not addressed the subject of the backward compatibility of this new helmet with the original PlayStation Games. However, he indicated that they will put the package for remastered versions of the original VR PlayStation titles.
- Information about the launch of the PlayStation VR 2 will be communicated at the beginning of next year.
tweezers vr ... or not
As usual with this kind of rumor, all this information is for the moment to take with tweezers. These different details seem to be sufficiently credible enough to be kept in mind.
At a time when these lines are written, Sony has not yet announced the exit period of its new virtual reality helmet. The different elements available for now let, however, suggest that this output will not be done before next year.
What do you think of these new rumors? Do you seem credible? What elements do you seem interesting? Do you believe that the PSVR 2 will be retro-compatible? Do you plan to get this new helmet? Tell us everything in the comments below.
