Like many other events, the Quakecon adapts its organization to the sanitary crisis and this 2021 edition will simply be broadcast online. The schedule of the event was unveiled by Bethesda, and a panel caught our attention: ID Software and MachineGames (Wolfenstein: The New Order, Wolfenstein: Youngblood and all recent balancing options) will hold a conference in the context of 25 years of Quake.
Update
The Xboxera website saw appear in the detailed program of the Quakecon the mention of a quake's "revitalized" "edition" signed machineGames. More specifically, during the "Let's Talk Quake" panel from Friday 20 to 16:30, French time. Since then, the text has been removed, a sign that it was a revelation that was to wait. This would tend to confirm the hypothesis of an announcement of a new title, perhaps even a remake shape of the original.
The Quakecon 2021 will be held over three days, from August 19 to 21, and a large number of panels are planned: Deathloop , The Elders Scrolls Online , DOOM Eternal or Fallout 76 Will be in the honor of this event. But one of these panels caught our attention: August 19, at 8 pm (French time), ID Software and MachineGames will focus on Quake's legacy on the 25th anniversary of the exit of the first component. If the presence of ID Software on a conference about Quake is obvious, that of machinegames is already a little more surprising. We know that the studio has inherited the project Indiana Jones sponsored by the Lucas Film Games label, but this appearance could still suggest that the Swedish developer has something to tell us about the future of Quake .
The last realization of machinegames, Wolfenstein: Young Blood , date indeed 2019 and the expertise accumulated by the studio on the series could quite distinguish it to revitalize Quake in the same way . This is in any case what we hope to learn on this occasion and we obviously keep an attentive eye on the entire event, Bethesda who has already booked some ads during previous editions.
