In Hyper Scape, all objects apart from melee weapons can be improved by locating a double object on the map and merging them. While many weapon improvements focus on damage, the statistic most often affected by a hacking upgrade is the recharge time.
Most hacks will never become stronger, but can use a hack faster can make the difference in a battle. There are currently 10 hacks in the game, each with its own initial recharge time. (Armor, Revelation, Ball, Wall, Mine, Chelem, Shock Wave, Teleport, Invisibility and Healing)
The force of the hack of the mine will increase in damage at Level 4. It is the only hack that has a statistic other than the affected recharge time, even if Shockwave and Ball can also be used offensively, their damage never go up.
The hack with the longest standard charging time is revealing at 14 seconds. The hack that can scan where the enemies are, even through the walls. At level 4, the recharge time is only nine seconds.
The hack with the shortest standard recharge time is Shockwave at nine seconds. This creates an explosion of energy damaging and propelling all targets within range. At level 4, the recharge time is only four seconds.
All other hacks go from 12 seconds to seven at level 4, or ten seconds to five.
The question is, are you the kind to opt for slower and more impressive hacks, or is it speed over everything?
