BVB | Ex-marketing boss packs: That s how it came to the slogan real love

Each BVB trailer knows him, even beyond the club borders, he has gained a tremendous awareness: the club blogan real love of Borussia Dortmund has become a real brand and stands for the values and self-image in the traditional club from Westphalia. But how did it ever come to this slogan?

The history of origin behind this brand Claim of the BVB, which has long since established itself as the motto Mia San Mia of FC Bayern Munich, has now been told by the former Marketing Director of Dortmund, Markus Rejek.

The 54-year-old, who is now a commercial managing director at Bundesliga competitor Arminia Bielefeld, spoke about the time at the BVB, when Jürgen Klopp was still on the line as a head coach.

I m able to remember a four-eyed conversation with Hans-Joachim Watzke. He questioned at that time: Do we need something like that for a football club? , Reported in the interview with Spox about the initial Doubt of the BVB managing director at the idea of a new club log.

Real love fit like ass on bucket

After Rekek convinced the club boss, everything went very fast: I had three suggestions. The real love we had already used in 2009 at the campaign for the 100-year club anniversary. This was assumed very well by the fans. [. ..] You usually have a favorite and then pack two alternatives that ideally reject, so it will be in the end of the favorite. And that was undoubtedly the real love, because - as Jürgen Klopp would say - like ass on bucket Fitted.

Since 2010, the slogan was finally an integral part of the brand Borussia Dortmund and has been connected to the club since the practically inseparable and unmistakable.

However, the greatest support in marketing was not the new motto real love at all times, but head coach Jürgen Klopp s highest person. Rejek recalls the huge sympathies that had caused the two-time master coach of BVB throughout the region: He has embodied and lived the identity of Borussia Dortmund himself. It was as if the identity of BVB and much of Jürgen s character had been one

Rejekt worked by BVB until 2014, then switched to TSV 1860 Munich and finally in 2017 to Bielefeld.
