As Acreage: Unchained in October 2019 went online, the responsible persons at Amigo may hope for a kind of a realm reborn effect as with Final Fantasy 14. With a new payment model without pay2win elements and all the content from the past Years wanted to retrieve the old fans of the online role-playing game and delight new players for the sandbox MMO.
In fact, followed a strong financial quarter, but the long-term success remained. In the launch month on Steam, more than 7,000 players at the same time in Acreage: Unchained, it was two years later only around the 250, with an average of 155 players (via Steam Charts).
Cocoa instead of Amigo
A few days ago there was the announcement of Aka Games that the South Korean Publisher (Black Desert, Lyon) will now take over the operation of Acreage: Unchained in Europe and North America.
Am December 1, 2021, Amigo no longer be responsible for the operation of Acreage. Responsibility for Acreage will be available for all players in Europe and North America at Aka Games.
This means that from December 1, 2021, Amigos rights and obligations regarding Acreages service and together with the responsibility for the administration of your games data will be handed over to Cocoa Games.
Accordingly, there is a step towards game data transfer that each player has to complete Acreage (also known as Acreage Legacy) and Acreage: Unchained continues to play.
Schedule for conversion
For the conversion to be done, the data of all players must be transferred. For this process, there is a precise schedule:
18 . November 2021 : Amigos Acreage game data will be saved until this time. Then the Acreage Data Transfer Service begins. 19 . November 2021 : The Acreage game data transfer service begins. Game data relate to important records of the game, such as character levels, items, currencies, credits, etc. 1. December 2021 : Amigos Acreage Service ends. 2 . December 2021 : A new era under the supervision of cocoa games begins.
The exact time for the start of cocoa games service will be announced later. The date on which the transfer period ends and unnamed game data is deleted is announced in a future post.
If you want to know how you can transfer your data, look at Aka Games in this official instructions from Aka Games.
New landlord, new trouble
Even if the previous Publisher Amigo is quite critical of many players, the new operator does not encourage too much counter-love. Problem number 1: Land and houses are probably not transferred. Say: All items on the property land in your inventory, and you have to search for a new property after the restart.
Problem number 2 and much more serious: Cocoa Games simply fits the payment model. from Buy2play (once buy, always play) Pay2play (pay a compulsory subscription, if you want to play), and yes, the new Model includes all buyers. The FAQ says:
F: Do the business models remain the same for each game version after transmission? A: Acreage Legacy is offered according to the same free-to-play model as before. For Acreage: Unchained, the service model is changed from the existing buy-to-play model to a subscription model that requires the purchase of access for an agreed period.
So that no one can expand his power in the game with real currency, we have opted for a monthly subscription model. Many of the previous paid benefits will be included in the subscription automatically free of charge and paid items will only be purely cosmetic nature. The monthly subscription will cost €9.99 for 30 days. Discounts are available when buying longer periods of time.
No love for buyers?
After all, who has Acreage: Unchained purchased, should automatically receive 60 days playing time. For owners of LCS theres more playing time. In addition, for all players, whether new or old, a free 30-day test time is offered. But the affected do not find the affected. A corresponding mail in the official discord collects thumbs down as usual only Blizzard with your mobile announcements.
More information about the transfer can be found on the new Acreage page of Aka Games.
