A few weeks ago, CD Project Red surprisingly revealed all its next projects, including The Witcher , a new license and, of course, the once denied Cyberpunk 2077 . Among the novelties are both the expansion of next year, called Phantom Liberty, and a sequel that will be in the future, called Orion Project for now.
Phantom Liberty above all
It seems quite obvious, but it is worth commenting that Orion probably only exists on paper at this time. The study began to create the infrastructure that will allow it to develop in the best conditions. There is another important project than to end before, with the first extension. It seems that this will be a key point, and more after the injured launch of Cyberpunk 2077.
Panel Sask, Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 Missions Chief offered some clarifications on the matter through Twitter.
Workers in Boston for Orion
CD Project Red acquired new studies in North America last year. And the relevant thing is that they are destined to grow exponentially, something that was initially announced, and was later confirmed by different sources. The main Cyberpunk 2077 teams will move to Boston and many hiring offers are open on the study website. The teams that are still in Poland will also work on it.
Now let's quote the administrative and financial director of CD Project Red, Piotr Nielubowicz, during an interview with IGN, the US study will go from 12 employees to several hundred.
It only remains to expect that the creation of the new study and hiring are going well. Organizing a team of this size and a great project is not easy, and the truth is that Cyberpunk 2077 did not have a bad launch because of the money. The future will tell us if CD Project Red has been properly reorganized from this debacle.
